Sprint Triathlon Training Plan (using P90X) available for download

Ever since I started B.A.S.E. Training all those many weeks ago (ha ha…beginning of March…and now it is almost June), I have been trying to find time to create some free training plans to give away on my site. One of my visions is to have free plans available for download that incorporate P90X and other Beachbody products into triathlon training. So far, I have only been able to post a 5K running plan that I created for myself a few months back. While the plan is a good one, I was hoping to have way more than that up by now.

Anyway, I took some time to put together a great sprint triathlon training plan using pretty standard triathlon workouts and the one and only P90X. P90X is a great way to get your strength training, core work, yoga, and even a little plyometrics for speed work into your triathlon training. It will make you stronger, faster, and more flexible. If you don’t think this stuff will help you in triathlon training then you are WRONG! Please read my blog on yoga for triathletes for more info on how yoga can help you. However, if you want to use this plan and don’t have time for the Yoga X DVD, just get in touch with me through email or on Facebook and I will tell you about some shorter alternatives to work into the plan….but don’t skip the yoga!!!

    Ryan, you have plan on training for a sprint tri with p90x, do have one with insanity? do you reccommend doing p90x or insanity with tri or 1/2 marathon training? thanks

      Hi! I do not have a plan available that incorporates Insanity with triathlon training. I plan on making one and have some good ideas about how to do that…but I have not completed a full round of the Insanity program myself yet. I start on Oct 25th and will make a plan after that. However, I would be happy to help you incorporate it if you want…I have the basic principles down.

      I do highly recommend doing either P90X or Insanity or both along with your triathlon or half marathon training. I don’t know if you noticed by I also have a 5K plan available on the site (http://www.tribasetraining.com/training-plans/free-run-training-plans). That one is the one that I made after I finished my first round of P90X and realized that it really helped my running. I definitely think P90X helps running, and from what I know of it, so does Insanity.

      Hi! I still have the plan. My site is being overhauled and going to a better download system and I guess I messed up and deleted that page too early. I will try emailing it to you.
