Free Triathlon Training Plans
PLEASE NOTE: These training plans are not for everyone. Some of them are intense and should be used with caution. If at any time during these programs you feel that you are exercising beyond your ability, please stop and consult a physician. I cannot make any guarantees regarding these programs.
I have created a custom training plans incorporating P90X or P90X2 for strength training. In the first 90 days (BASE plans), we will work on building your aerobic base as well as building strength for the season. This will take you through the “base” period of your training season (not all the way to your race) and leave you with a massive aerobic engine on which to build race specific speed.
After you have completed the base plan, you can move on to my build/race plans and work on speed and race specific strength right up to your goal race.
Check out THIS VIDEO for a more detailed explanation on how these plans work.
You will notice that each of these plans is set at $19.99 in Training Peaks. However, there are several ways to get this plan for free.
Here are your options:
1) Make me your coach on www.teambeachbody.com This is a free service and a free account that you create and I will help you through the program. 12 week Sprint Triathlon Plan (w/ P90X)
This is a 12-week training plan to help you train for a sprint distance triathlon (~1/2 mile swim, ~15 mile bike, 5K run). This plan is aimed at those who have some experience with P90X and are fit enough to handle some P90X strength, plyometrics and yoga on top of a triathlon training schedule. Believe me, this training plan is not easy, but it will make you faster and give you a great sprint triathlon performance.
This plan is built in three phases that are 4 weeks long with the 4th week of each phase being a recovery week to prepare for the next phase. Phase 1 is the base phase where you build a cardio foundation, phase 2 is the build phase where you work more on speed and building endurance, and the third phase is the peak phase where you work on race specific skills and speed.
This plan has one day off in the middle of the week (Thursday), but can be modified for whatever day of the week you would like to take off. Many choose to take Monday off because of the longer workouts that are usually scheduled on the weekends.
If you have any questions about the plan, please feel free to contact me through this site or on Facebook. I hope you enjoy this plan and I would love any feedback if you end up using it.

Hi, I would like to purchase P90x2 through you. I am 40 yold. Middle of the pack olympic triathlete. My goal is to do two olympic (aug.sep ) triathlons and 1 half iron man ( July ) a year with olympic being the primary ones.
I wanted to see which program(s) would be best to get to have a year around.
I want to mininize my cardio time and include more strenght training. I was reading CrossFit endurance sites but their claims seem very suspect.
Also do you have an offseason program?
Please let me know
Best
Dimitri
Great, Dimitri, I will send you an email with the details!
Do you have ironman training plans incorporating P90x. Also is Shakeology primal?
Hey Sara!
I do not currently have any Ironman plans out on the net but I can make one in an evening pretty easy. I just don’t have the demand for it usually (you are only the second person that has asked). The other option is to get the half iron plan and modify the S/B/R workouts to fit your normal ironman schedule. I can help with either way. Let me know.
Also, Shakeology is not technically primal. It has a few ingredients like oats and some grasses that I don’t think Mark would consider primal but they are pretty small. I did a primal challenge group once with Shakeology added and everyone did awesome. Most of Shakeology would be considered primal.

Want to make you my coach but need your ID or screen name.
Hi,
I’ve been considering doing P90X or P90X2 while training for a tri – but was also considering other beachbody programs (e.g. Insanity). I’d love to chat with you more about which would be the most beneficial and to make you my beachbody coach.
Thanks,
Jenny
